Bandung, Unikom — The ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge is an initiative under the ASEAN Student Mobility Program, part of the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025 (AEF 2025). The program is designed to foster innovation, leadership, and collaboration among ASEAN students. Its aim is to encourage them to address regional challenges and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge, students collaborate to create creative solutions for real-world issues in ASEAN countries through project development workshops, cultural exchanges, visits to local universities, and expert-guided discussions, including one from the Universiti Malaya.

From February 19–23, 2025, Dinda Amalia Putri C, students from the Department of International Relations 2023 intake and representative from UNIKOM, participated in the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge alongside a multinational team comprising members from Malikussaleh University, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Kalinga State University Philippines, and Yala Rajabhat University Thailand. This prestigious competition is part of the AEF 2025 in Malaysia and focuses on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dinda’s team successfully secured first place in the event.

Dinda and her team introduced the ASEAN Agro App, a digital innovation focused on monitoring and managing livestock health amid the challenges of climate change. The app directly contributes to SDG 13: Climate Action, with the aim of helping farmers cope with the impacts of extreme weather. In addition, the ASEAN Agro App also facilitates direct digital consultation with experts or veterinarians, enabling early detection and rapid medical treatment to reduce livestock mortality rates. Each livestock animal will be equipped with a special tag connected to the app, allowing for efficient and targeted identification and monitoring of individual conditions.

“Alhamdulillah, our innovation won first place at the Universiti Malaya, achieved thanks to the cross-disciplinary team’s ability to unite ideas through open communication and collaboration, despite facing differences in perspective at the beginning. This valuable experience has enriched my understanding of digital innovation and international collaboration, and has fostered a spirit of perseverance to contribute to addressing climate change issues in the agriculture and livestock sectors,” said Dinda.

Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., as the Supervising Lecturer and Head of the Department of International Relations, expressed her pride in the achievements of Dinda Amalia Putri C and her team. According to Dr. Dewi, this achievement shows a significant improvement in the quality of UNIKOM International Relations students, who are now able to compete with students from leading universities in ASEAN countries. She hopes that Dinda’s experience and achievements will boost the confidence of other students to compete on the international stage. She also expressed her gratitude for the university’s support, which contributed to this success.
