The International Relations Study Program at FISIP UNIKOM held a two-day International Meeting Simulations event. On the first day, the SDC focused on the theme “United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change,” featuring a simulation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) conference, which addressed strategic issues related to climate change. This year’s International Court Simulation was conducted entirely offline at the Auditorium of the University of Computer Science Indonesia in Bandung. The event was attended by 60 participants, with 41 active participants serving as delegates—all sixth-semester students from the International Relations Program—and 19 fourth-semester students acting as observers. ICS is a regular annual event organized by the International Relations Program at UNIKOM and also serves as a Professional Practice Course within the program’s curriculum.

The event began with a speech by The Chair of the International Moot Court Simulation is Prof. Dr. Hj. Aelina Surya, Dra. who emphasized the importance of this activity as a forum for each delegation to practice conducting international simulations in discussing global issues and formulating solutions. He also expressed his hope that IHI students would grow into reliable diplomats capable of representing Indonesia on the world stage. Next was a speech by the Head of the International Relations Study Program, Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S. IP., M. Si. In her speech, she said that in this academic year, in accordance with the 2022 curriculum, the course has been renamed International Meeting Simulations. According to her, international meeting simulations such as Model United Nations are an important platform for students to improve their soft skills, which are key competencies that must be possessed. Through this activity, students not only expand their understanding of global issues, such as the theme of climate change raised this year, but are also encouraged to conduct in-depth research on the causes, impacts, and alternative solutions. Additionally, this simulation trains students to apply theory in addressing real-world problems while honing their diplomatic, negotiation, and research skills. It is hoped that students of the International Relations Study Program can learn to build consensus, fight for national interests, and establish constructive international cooperation. The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si. In her opening remarks, she emphasized that the international simulation session is not merely an academic exercise but a means to sharpen students’ diplomatic skills, critical thinking, and negotiation abilities. The event was also attended by permanent lecturers from the International Relations Program, including Andrias Darmayadi, M.Si., Ph.D, Sylvia Octa Putri, S.IP., M.I.Pol, Dr. Henike Primawanti S.IP., M.I.Pol, as well as staff from the International Relations Program, Dwi Endah Susanti, S.E.

The ICS event took place at 8:00 AM and was divided into three sessions, concluding with a press conference. The event ended at 1:00 PM. Each participant actively participated in country statements and debates related to the session theme. This international session simulation event was made even more interesting with the presentation of certificates and sashes of appreciation from the IHI Study Program to the best session participants. The award recipients were Yosephine Nathania as The Best Speech, Ghafira Nabila as The Best Position Paper, Najmi Ramadhan as The Best Male Delegate, Jessica Nyzileitha as The Best Female Delegate, Zalika Gantina as Most Outstanding, Ni Komang Asti as Honorable Mention, and Danila Baquita as the recipient of Verbal Commendation. The event concluded with a group photo of the delegates, observers, and organizing committee. May the next ICS event bring benefits not only to International Relations students but also to the national and global public.
